Kim Kardashian is no stranger to a throwback picture or two. The Keeping Up With The Kardashians star often takes us down memory lane with old snaps on Instagram. And in her most recent post, the Skims founder has proven that, once again, she defies the concept of time. Ageing? Kim doesn’t know her.

The mum-of-four posted a heartwarming selfie with her late dad from 1998, in memory of him on his birthday. Yet, we’re sat here confused AF, questioning how this picture is 24 years old?! To put it quite frankly, she looks exactly the same. But her age-defying witchcraft isn’t the only thing we’re obsessed with in this photo.

Let’s take it back to the '90s. It was an era iconic for many reasons: Furbies, The Spice Girls Viva Forever, and Princess Diana’s revenge dress, to name a few. But one thing you may have forgotten about, that is often mistaken for a Y2K trend, are butterfly hair clips. And if this doesn’t ring any bells, take a look back to when Lizzo resurrected the style late last year.

In Kim’s selfie, if you look beyond the suuuuuper skinny, pencil-thin brows, that were (believe it or not) trendy at the time, you may spy a few floral hair accessories, too. Specifically, ones that I’m sure many of us picked up from Claire’s back in the day. Wearing five horizontally across your hair was such a look.

But, the big question that follows this is: will the butterfly clip be the new favourite hair accessory of spring 2022? I’m hoping so. For the mems, of course.

Trends come and go, but 90s butterfly clips will live on in our hearts forever.
