There are some 90s beauty trends that are a bit hit and miss. Skinny brows, frosted lipstick and chunky highlights are just some of the old-school beauty trends that are considered a bit Marmite – but the one sitting right at the top of that list? Blue eyeshadow.
Y’see, blue eyeshadow was all over the Top of the Pops stage and made an appearance in all of the music videos I danced to in my bedroom and so, I was led into a false sense of security that I looked really cool.
Except, it turns out that blue eyeshadow isn’t for everybody (read: me).
So, you can imagine the slight bit of fear I felt when I saw Hailey Bieber’s most recent Instagram post.
Posing for WSJ Magazine, the model is sporting baby blue eyeshadow. Yep, guys, baby blue eye makeup is making a comeback.
Except, it seems Hailey is sporting an eyeshadow style that makes bright shades like blue seem a whole lot more wearable.
Everyone's clicking on...
Instead of taking the intimidating shade all the way across the eyelid, Hailey’s makeup artist Lauren Parsons focused the aquatic hue on just the inner and outer edges of her eyelids, keeping the middle neutral.
Other pictures from the photoshoot include Hailey sporting a stripped back look with some no makeup makeup and a cowboy hat, of course.
In each snap, though, her hair has a deep side parting – so much so, it’s covering up one eye in a lot of the pictures.
Does this mean the side parting is officially cool again, too? Now that’s a trend my millennial self can get on board with.
