Yesterday Lizzo posted a video of her Facetiming Cardi to make the announcement and never one to disappoint, Cardi was sure to make us laugh.
Wearing a bright pink Lilo & Stitch beanie and complaining that 9am was too early to answer the phone, Cardi gave us a sneak peek of her fresh platinum hair.
Thankfully she didn't make us wait too long for the full reveal, as last night Cardi posted a photo to Instagram with what we can only describe as a hairstyle straight off the Clueless set.
The freshest blonde, with some serious '90s layers, it's official Cardi has joined the list of celebrities whose haircuts are directly inspired by the best decade the world has ever seen.
We're talking Dove Cameron and her Pamela Anderson inspired 'do, Paris Hilton and her Playboy waves and of course Miley Cyrus with a mullet eerily similar to her dad's in the early '90s.

There's simply no escaping it, '90s hair is back and we're all getting layers.
Of course, being the icon that she is, Cardi also switched up her nails to match her new hair colour. Opting for some seriously lethal bright yellow tips.
It wasn't just her hair that was '90s inspired either. While her hair is very much Cher Horowitz, the eyeshadow is very Pamela Anderson/Aaliyah.
All Cardi needs now are some tiny sunglasses and a time machine.
