With any movie starring Jason Statham you know you're going to get some epic fight scenes, intense car chase moments and plenty of secrets. And Shelter is no different.

What is Shelter about?

Released at the start of 2026, Shelter stars Jason Statham as Michael Mason, a former MI6 ruthless assassin, who has withdrawn from civilisation and now lives on an isolated island alone in the Scottish Outer Hebrides.

Every week he receives food and supplies from his former marine pal and his teenage niece Jessie, however when Jessie's uncle perishes in a storm, Michael takes Jessie in. But just as Jessie is settling in, Michael's island is invaded by an agency determined to take him out and he must race to protect himself and Jessie at whatever cost necessary.

When the movie premiered earlier this year, one critic said it was "one of the best of its star's [Jason Statham] last five years." While another said: "Shelter is an action film that is deeper than just mindless fighting and killing.

Who stars in Shelter?

Shelter is lead by Jason Statham, who is known for his long career in action and thriller movies, including titles such as Snatch, the Fast & Furious franchise and Lock, Stock and Smoking Barrels.

He's joined by the following cast members in Shelter:

  • Bill Nighy as Stephen Manafort, the recently ousted Chief of MI6.
  • Naomi Ackie as Roberta Frost, the new acting Chief of MI6.
