Ludwig fans, this is for you! The detective show, which has been branded the 'best British drama in years', is returning for a second season. And the release date is much sooner than you'd think!

Here's everything you need to know about Ludwig season two... which definitely deserves a spot on your must-watch list,
What is the BBC's Ludwig about?
In season one of Ludwig, "accidental detective" John Taylor was on a quest to crack the biggest puzzle of his life: finding his missing brother.
Per the BBC's teaser, the second instalment of the cryptic comedy drama picks up where season one left off, with John (AKA Ludwig) now working as a Crime Scene Consultant for the Cambridge Police Authority. "No longer having to masquerade as his brother, he's openly more 'Ludwig' than ever," the synopsis says. That being: "Brilliant at solving puzzles but hopeless at everything else."
The case of Ludwig's missing twin brother hasn't yet been solved, however, which is what viewers will see him try to crack in season two. "Now that he's an official employee of the station, John is forbidden from using any police resources to look for his brother or uncover exactly what he was investigating," the synopsis adds. "Of course, John won't stop... a puzzle needs solving, and a husband and father needs bringing home. One masquerade may have ended, but a new one has just begun."
Who is in the BBC's Ludwig?
As mentioned, David Mitchell is reprising his role as John 'Ludwig' Taylor for season two, as is Anna Maxwell-Martin, who plays John's sister-in-law and wife of his missing brother, James.

Beyond the familiar faces Ludwig fans have come to know and love, there's also a list of newbies joining the cast. Notably, the BBC has confirmed the arrival of Stephen Merchant. He is taking on the role of "cocky snooker champion Danny Sloane" who is "at odds with John Ludwig." Sounds intriguing!
