One of our favourite police dramas in the last few years has undoubtedly been Blue Lights and while we wait for the next season to arrive later this year, we've found just the show to keep us hooked until then.

Now streaming on ITVX is Borderline a gripping police drama that sees two feuding detectives have to put their differences aside in order to hunt down dangerous criminals. Curious to know more? Here's what to know about this must-watch series.

What is Borderline about?

Broadcast originally in September 2024, Borderline is an Irish and Northern Irish drama series about two detectives Detective Chief Inspector Philip Boyd of Northern Ireland and Detective Inspector Aoife Regan from the Republic of Ireland, who don't get along but must put their differences aside in order to solve murders taking place on both sides of their borders.

The series takes place across six episodes, with every two episodes focussing on a new crime for the detectives to solve.

On IMDb the series is rated highly by viewers, with one user saying, they loved the "unexpected plot twists" and "how the detectives have different backgrounds too." Meanwhile another said the series "deserves to be better known" and another said: "got through all episodes over a weekend."

Who is in the cast of Borderline?

Leading the cast of Borderline are Amy De Bhrún as DI Aoife Regan and Eoin Macken as DCI Philip Boyd. De Bhrún is best known for starring in Line of Duty as Steph Corbett and other shows such as Sanctuary: A Witch's Tale and Blackshore. Macken meanwhile is known for his roles in Netflix's Ransom Canyon, La Brea and The Night Shift.
