If Big Little Lies and The Perfect Couple have been some of your favourite shows in the last few years then you're in luck as there's a new suspense filled beach drama heading our way in just a matter of weeks as new series The Five Star Weekend debuts.
The Five Star Weekend, starring Jennifer Garner, is based on Elin Hilderbrand's novel of the same name and follows a food blogger called Hollis Shaw who invites her friends down for a weekend in Nantucket following a traumatic loss.
Hilderbrand is the writer behind the novel The Perfect Couple, which was made into the gripping 2024 series on Netflix starring Nicole Kidman.
The Five Star Weekend is perfect if you're into east coast beach dramas filled with rich people, their beautiful homes and their dark secrets. Here's everything you need to know about it, including when you can watch it.
What is The Five Star Weekend about?
The eight-part series is centred on Hollis Shaw (Jennifer Garner), who is an acclaimed cook and food blogger and writer. She suffers a devastating loss at the start of the series when her husband dies, which blows open the cracks of her life, making her realise the complicated relationship she has with her daughter and how she actually feels about her growing Internet following.
In order to gain some control over her spiralling life, Hollis decides to invite three friends from various stages in her life and one surprise guest to a weekend away in her beach house in Nantucket. As the weekend progresses the women get to know each other more, share their secrets and old romances rise to the surface.
It sounds right up our street and we're going to be watching every episode in one sitting.
Who stars in The Five Star Weekend?
The Five Star Weekend is led by Jennifer Garner as food blogger Hollis. Playing Hollis' friends are Chloë Sevigny as Tatum McKenzie, Regina Hall as Dru-Ann Jones, Gemma Chan as Gigi Ling, and D'Arcy Carden as Brooke Kirtley.
Harlow Jane plays Hollis' daughter Caroline and rounding out the main cast is Timothy Olyphant who plays Jack, who was Hollis' first boyfriend as a teenager.
When does The Five Star Weekend come out?
The Five Star Weekend is being released all in one batch on 16th July on Sky and NOW. The series is airing one week earlier in the US on 9th July on Peacock, so try and avoid spoilers if you can!
