Kelly Macdonald is one of those actors we could watch in just about anything, and we reignited our obsession with her when she starred in Netflix's standout detective series Department Q last year. We still have a while to go before Kelly and the show return for season two, however, thankfully Kelly has an impressive back catalogue of projects we can watch in the meantime.

What is The Victim about?
The Victim is a four-part drama that was released in 2019. It stars Kelly as Anna Dean, a mother whose son was murdered by an older boy 15 years prior to the drama's events taking place.
When she discovers her son's killer, now an adult, has been released from prison, she sets out to discover his whereabouts and unmasks his identity online, leading to him getting attacked on Halloween. But is Craig Myers actually her son's killer? Or has a mistaken case of identity caused more problems for Anna?
The show was highly praised when it was released, with The Hollywood Reporter saying of The Victim: "Set in Scotland and starring Kelly Macdonald in a fascinating, shaded performance, this is exceptional work from writer and creator Rob Williams."
Meanwhile The Times praised Kelly's acting, saying: "There’s a nuanced performance from Macdonald, who somehow manages to stay believable amid the twists and turns of the plot."
And The Guardian gave it four out of five stars and said it poised the question of: "It is a drama that resonates with its time by asking what constitutes a victim and how much leeway we allow in bestowing that status."

The Victim is led by Kelly Macdonald, who if you've not seen in Department Q, may recognise her from her roles in movies such as Trainspotting, No Country for Old Men, Nanny McPhee and Operation Mincemeat, amongst many others.
Alongside Kelly, is John Hannah as Detective Inspector Stephen Grover, who investigates the case of Craig Myers' attack. You'll most likely known John Hannah for starring in Four Weddings and A Funeral and The Mummy trilogy.
