Buckle up, Big Brother fans. Former BB28 houseguests Lyric Medeiros and Rome Seymour have officially reunited in the real world after their respective evictions. In case you somehow missed it/weren’t tuned into the livestreams each week, Lyric and Rome were the big showmance of the season.
And, according to a sweet vlog Lyric shared on Monday, August 17, the pair is still going strong (even after Lyric’s unexpected betrayal). She not only referred to Rome as her “favorite person” in the post’s caption, but also called him the “love of my life” as she picked him up from the airport. Lyric unsurprisingly came through with a perfect music selection, too, when she soundtracked their reunion with an instrumental version of Taylor Swift’s “Lover.”
Lyric enlisted her best friend Mina to help her film Rome’s reaction when they arrived to pick him up, and during the video, Lyric asked Mina whether she thought they’d end up together.
“Yes. Yes, I did,” Mina said, before revealing, “He’s very nice, though. And for the record, I was the one that reached out to him to get him in contact with me and Lyric’s family.” (Shoutout to Mina, for real!)
After Lyric admitted she was “nervous” to see Rome for the first time since filming BB, he “cut off traffic” to hop in the driver’s seat of her car and embrace her with kisses. The gesture prompted their main ally from the show, Jason De Puy, to comment, “i’m crying 😭🥹.”
Another Big Brother alum, Cody Nickson, also hopped in the comments section of the video to share a sweet sentiment with the showmance-turned-real-life couple.
“I haven’t watched this season, but this popped up on my feed and I learned that you two met and fell in love on the same show where I met and fell in love with my now wife,” he wrote about Jessica Graf, who he met on the show’s 19th season and eventually married and welcomed five daughters with.
He continued, in part, “You two look like you are in love. Realize the real prize was never winning Big Brother. It was finding the person God put there for you.”
Before their big reunion, Lyric told Parade that she planned to call Rome as soon as she returned to the real world after her eviction.
“Oh, I’m calling him immediately when I am able to get my phone. Immediately!” she said at the time, adding, “And I’m telling him how much I love him and how much I miss him. I hope that he’s in Hawaii right now waiting for me with Jason.”
@ Jason, get on that plane immediately, friend!!
