The cast of the upcoming 28th season of Big Brother has not yet been announced, but one alum from the series just shared a clue that a fellow former houseguest might be returning. According to Parade, on Monday, June 29, Janelle Pierzina posted on X about not being able to get in touch with season 26 player Angela Murray, which has made fans wonder if it’s because Angela is sequestering ahead of the show beginning production. (Contestants hide out in a hotel before filming starts and work on preproduction stuff like photos and evaluations while being kept apart from one another.)
“I cannot get ahold of Angela,” Janelle reportedly wrote. “We have a good relationship, talk sometimes, and it’s been crickets.” Another post read, “Her phone used to show delivered when I would text her, and now it’s not saying delivered.”
Janelle has since deleted the posts.
Season 28 player Jimmy Heagerty responded, “I was thinking the same thing!!! She’s usually so quick to text back.” Jimmy included some suspicious eyes emojis to get the point across.
Big Brother fans are a passionate bunch—I mean, there are literally live feeds for this show that people obsessively watch—so there is a lot of chatter online about whether Angela is really coming back. Angela became a fan favorite during her season and ended the show in sixth place. She went on to compete in The Amazing Race season 38 alongside her daughter, Lexi.
So…is Angela really coming back for another round? On the one hand, texts are supposedly not getting delivered to her. On the other, she posted a photo of a flatbread at a restaurant to her Instagram Story. What does it mean?!?! As Parade notes, it could mean that someone close to Angela is posting on her Instagram account on her behalf to throw people off. I mean, a flatbread would be a pretty subtle way to do just that.
For now, fans better keep analyzing those carbs, ’cause the cast of Big Brother is usually only announced a couple of days before the game begins. Season 28 will premiere on Thursday, July 9.
