Just a week after she skipped Taylor Swift’s wedding, Margaret Qualley’s rep is clearing up some misconceptions about her reported split from Jack Antonoff after just about three years of marriage. Namely: whether or not cheating was involved.
In a statement to People, Margaret’s rep said, “The narratives running in the press about Margaret and Jack are categorically untrue. There are no trust issues. There was no infidelity or anything outside of respect and partnership in this relationship.”
The statement continued, “They have deep love and care for one another. There are only two people in this marriage, and the sources who are talking to the press and commenting on their relationship are not people who know them. Please respect their privacy.”
For what it’s worth: The rep neither confirmed nor denied separation rumors (and Jack is still wearing his wedding ring) so…take all the reportage on their breakup with a grain of salt.
Following Margaret’s absence from Taylor’s wedding (which Jack attended with his sister), fans noticed that she archived several pics of herself and Jack on Instagram. Soon after, People broke the news of the couple’s split, with one source noting that the relationship was “rocky” and another claiming that the two were still “figuring things out.”
Right around the same time, a blind item appeared on the Crazy Days and Nights blog, reading, “I told you back in February that the actress offspring and the music producer were done because of his cheating. Now, everyone is finally catching on.”
A day after the news broke, another source chatted with People, alleging that the pair’s busy schedules put strain on their relationship (Jack’s currently on his Bleachers Forever tour, while Margaret is working on her new film, Possession).
“They argue a lot, and between her career and him constantly being on the road or working late in the studio, it’s been difficult,” the insider claimed.
Another insider told Page Six, “Jack could be very particular about how he liked things. He’d often prefer for things to be done the way he thought was best, and Margaret didn’t always feel like her perspective was being heard or given the same weight. Communication was definitely a challenge between him and Margaret.”
More as I have it!!
