After last week accusing the Royal Family of "planting" stories in the press, Prince Harry has set out further allegations in the latest teaser trailer for his and Meghan Markle's Netflix docu-series.
In a new Harry & Meghan trailer that was released today, the Duke of Sussex seemingly says of the Royal Family: "They were happy to lie to protect my brother, they were never willing to tell the truth to protect us."
It's unclear what 'lies' Harry is referring to, presumably with much of the bombshell claims being left for the second half of the series, but he follows this statement up with a comment about "institutional gaslighting" within the Royal Family. "They were actively recruiting people to disseminate disinformation," Christopher Bouzy, whose firm tackles abuse and misinformation on social media, says in the trailer – although, notably, there's no clarification in regards to who 'they' are.
"I wasn't being thrown to the wolves, I was being fed to the wolves," the Duchess of Sussex says elsewhere in the clip, as she and her husband go on to talk about their decision to step back as senior working royals. "I said, 'we need to get out of here,'" Harry exclaims, adding: "I wonder what would have happened to us had we not got out when we did?"
Another clip shows Harry onboard an aeroplane as the pair depart the UK – he describes this as a "freedom flight".
The trailer ends with a series of videos showing the couple enjoying their new life in the US, with Harry emotively telling the camera: "To move to the next chapter, you've got to finish the first chapter."
Harry & Meghan Volume I is available to stream on Netflix now, with Volume II dropping on 15 December.
