We're officially heading back to Rutshire! Disney+ has just confirmed Rivals season two will be landing on our screens on 15 May later this year, and they also shared a very quick teaser trailer that was packed full of blink and you'll miss them spoilers.

The Disney+ series is an adaptation of the late Dame Jilly Cooper's novel Rivals, and takes us back to the glamorous world of 1980s polo and TV stations. The new season will be split into two batches of six episodes, with the first three episodes debuting on 15 May, followed by three more, and then the next six released later this year.

Following that shocking cliff-hanger at the end of season one, with Tony Baddingham seemingly left for dead in his office, the new season will plunge us straight back into the boardroom drama, with Corinium and Venturer battling it out for control of the Central South West television franchise. And outside the boardroom, there's plenty of romances heating up too, affairs to be exposed and deep buried secrets ready to be revealed.

The new trailer is less than a minute long, but it actually gives away a lot of clues as to what we can expect when the show arrives in a few months. And these are the six biggest spoilers the Rivals season trailer shared.

6 massive Rivals spoilers you missed in season 2 trailer

Tony Baddingham is alive and well

Ok easily the biggest spoiler in the trailer is Tony Baddingham (David Tennant) being alive. If you recall during the last episode of season one, Cameron Cook (Nafessa Williams) whacked Tony over the head with an award, and left him bleeding out. Honestly, it looked like he was done for, but turns out Rutshire has incredible surgeons as he's back and just as powerful as before, with the new trailer showcasing him walking out of a helicopter unscathed.

Sarah and Beattie are hosting a show together

This was sort of teased at the end of last season, with Tony confirming he wanted Sarah (Emily Atack) to host a show with journalist Beattie Johnson (Annabel Scholey), which she was less than thrilled about. And now we know it's officially happening thanks to the trailer which starts with Sarah introducing their new series as the "naughtiest show on television".

The arrival of the Carlisle twins

As well as all our favourite cast returning, the new season trailer teased the arrival of two new characters, who are part of the original book series written by Dame Jilly Cooper. At around halfway through the new trailer a pair of ginger twins wearing polo outfits jump out of a car. Some fans have theorised that these two are likely to be the Carlisle twins - Dommie and Seb - who feature in the first book of Cooper's Rutshire Chronicles Riders and the third book Polo.

Rupert's ex-wife Helen is back in the mix

Season one gave us a small glimpse at Rupert's (Alex Hassell) ex-wife's Helen who was played by Anastasia Griffith. However, this season she is being played by Hayley Atwell who features briefly in the trailer and is expected to have a much larger role to play in the series.

Cameron and Tony seem to be on good terms

Ok, so despite Cameron hitting Tony over the head at the end of season one it appears they may have buried the hatchet? During the trailer there's a moment where Tony is addressing his team at the TV station and lifts up Cameron's hand in a scene where they look to be working together. So has she not quit like she said she was going to? Or is still working undercover for Venturer?

Freddie and Lizzie seem to still be having an affair

Everyone's favourite couple from season one Freddie (Danny Dyer) and Lizzie (Katherine Parkinson) finally slept together at the end of season one and from the looks of the trailer they still seem to be having their affair as they're seen close to one another about to kiss.

Oh 15 May cannot come soon enough!
