Six new singles joined the Married At First Sight UK experiment this week. First to say "I do" were Abigail and John, both hoping for a fresh start after a string of failed relationships.
From the moment they met at the altar, sparks flew, and it seemed the experts may have finally got it right. Abi, a 34-year-old veterinary nurse from Bournemouth, was instantly drawn to John's calm energy, while John, a 38-year-old marketing consultant from Flintshire, appeared smitten.
There was just one early hurdle: Abi feared her overprotective mum might not warm to her new husband. But despite the nerves, the pair seemed determined to make it work.
The show was filmed earlier this year, meaning all the couples have now made their final decisions. So, are Abi and John still together? Here’s everything we know.
What has happened with Abi and John on MAFS UK 2025 so far?
It was love at first sight when Abi and John met at the altar.
He friends knew she'd fancy him, admitting that she'll be "buzzing" when she sees how "handsome" he is - and they were right.
As soon as Abi met John, she complimented his "stunning eyes" before telling the cameras: "He's definitely my type 100 per cent. Instantly I'm just relaxed."
And the feeling was mutual as he told her :"You look amazing!"
He added to the cameras: "She's absolutely beautiful."
Her mum could see their connection, too, saying: "Wow there is definitely a spark there."
However, she hadn't quite given him her seal of approval and was keen to get to know more about him.
The couple shared a kiss after saying "I do" and another while taking photos - after which John admitted that he could see himself falling in love with her.
"Yeah I fancy Abi, she's everything that I'd want," he said.
It was finally time for Abi to warn John about her mother, as she told him that her mum is "hard to please" and that he might get a "grilling" from her. Although he found this scary, John was keen to "prove" himself.
"God help him if my mum doesn't approve," Abi said.
At the dinner table, Abi's mum got chatting to John in a bid to "suss" him out. She let John know that the last thing she wanted for her daughter was an "arrogant" man and he reassured her that he wasn't like that.
Abi then asked if her mother approved, to which she replied: "Yes... I feel like I can trust you."
She added to the cameras: "I've seen my daughter light up and he seems a genuine, decent person. My concerns have been put to rest. Abi and John are a great match. It's going to be a success."
At the end of the night, Abi and John shared a glass of bubbly and talked about their connection. He said she’s the "whole package" and that it wasn’t just about her physical beauty - cute!
Abi aired some of her worries, admitting that things were going so well, she couldn’t help but feel a little anxious. She confessed she was scared it might all fall apart and hoped John was genuinely in it for the right reasons.
He comforted her by saying he’s truly in it for the right reasons - love, a future, and starting a family.
They both then admitted that they've never been in love before, and maybe this could be it...
Are Abi and John from MAFS UK 2025 still together?
It's not known whether Abi and John decided to stay with each other after MAFS, but things were looking very promising after their wedding day.
This is MAFS though, and things can change quickly, so we'll have to keep watching to see how things unfold on the show.
That said, they are still following each other on Instagram which is a good sign (although this could be a contractual obligation).
