It probably shouldn't come as a surprise that Tip Toe has been such a hit with viewers, considering it's the latest brainchild of Russel T Davies, who has been behind the likes of It's A Sin, Years & Years and even Doctor Who.
But thanks to its brilliant cast and authentic portrayal of current threats to the queer community, the show has been applauded by critics and the public alike. So much so, that people are calling for a Tip Toe season 2. But will there be more episodes?
Here's what we know about a potential follow up to Tip Toe, from the cast to storyline and more.

Has Tip Toe season 2 been announced?
So far, there's been no word of whether Tip Toe could get more episodes, and unfortunately, it's probably not likely - often Russell T Davies' shows are created as limited series. Both It's A Sin and Years and Years were produced as miniseries, which means there were only five episodes and six episodes respectively, despite fan calls for more.
Tip Toe season one contained five episodes, and none of the cast or crew have spoken out about the potential for more episodes.
What would happen in Tip Toe season 2?
*Spoilers* The final scenes of Tip Toe flashback to Leo's horrific murder, which sees him hung in the street by his abusive, intolerant neighbours. While the men complicit in his murder flee, Clive remains in a state of shock over his actions, standing at the scene. Text then pops up to reveal the fate of the characters - Clive and his accomplices faced criminal charges, Marie and her sons leave the area and George falls into petty crime and drug abuse.
While fans have been wondering whether these text cards could expand into future episodes, David Morrissey, who plays Clive, and Alan Cumming, who plays Leo, insist the whole point of their fates being delivered in this way is to make you realise the impact of their actions.
"[Davies and director Peter Hoar] just went, 'OK, that works'," Morrissey told Radio Times over the show's ending. "I do think it does give you [the impression of] a life, particularly around George... here's this boy, it's really difficult for him, it's really complicated for him, and it ruins his life.
"You see that on the card. That is really the stuff we carry, and that's very important for us to know going forward."
Cumming added: "The whole point is something really horrible happens, a seismic shift in the narrative, but then look at the detritus that it leaves. But that's it, we're done now... that's the point to end it."
Who would be in the cast of Tip Toe season 2?
It obviously depend on which way the story went, but tragically, Leo wouldn't be in future episodes. Based on Cumming's comments, we could expect George (played by Jackson Connor) to take a leading role, as we follow how the events impacted his future life, while other cast members could include:
- David Morrissey as Clive
- Elizabeth Berrington as Stephanie
- Denise Welch as Diane
- Pooky Quesnel as Marie
- Joseph Evans as Saul
- Iz Hesketh as Zee
- Luyanda Unati Lewis-Nyawo as Judy
- Gabriel Clark as Mikey
- Shakeel Kimotho as Hanna
- Paul Rhys as Melba
- Charlie Condou as Curtis
What else is Russell T Davies working on right now?
The writer and producer is heavily involved in the relaunched Doctor Who, which is due to have a brilliant new doctor after Ncuti Gatwa announced he was leaving the Disney+/BBC production. So far, there's no word of who might take over the role, or when new episodes will launch.
Davies is also working on the international roll-out of five-part series The War Between the Land and the Sea. It released on the BBC in December, and is now making its way to the US.
