She's back! It's been three years since we last saw Lauren Lyle don her detective cap and star in drama Karen Pirie, but she's now officially returned to the crime drama series with the first episode of the second season dropping last night.
The three-part series is an adaptation of Val McDermid's crime novels and features Lauren as the titular character Karen Pirie as she goes about solving cold cases in Fife, Scotland.
This time around she's solving the case of an oil heiress Cat Grant who was kidnapped along with her small son from a fish and chip shop back in 1984.

When did Karen Pirie season 2 premiere?
Following the show's debut in 2022, there has been a three year gap since the first season and now the second season has begun in 2025.
The first episode of the second series was released at 8pm on 20 July. There will be three two hour long episodes in this season, just like the first.
When is the next episode of Karen Pirie season 2 on?
Each Sunday evening for the next two weeks there will be a new episode of Karen Pirie on at 8pm. Yes, be sure to note that it is on at 8pm and not 9pm like other ITV dramas, this is because the episodes are two hours long, rather than the standard 1 hour.
