Only Murders in the Building season two recap
Season two begins with Mabel, Charles and Olivia under arrest after the former Arconia landlord, Bunny Folger, is murdered and Mabel found her body in the apartment building.
They are interviewed by Detective Williams and Detective Kreps, but are ultimately released after a lack of evidence. This doesn’t stop Cindy Canning, host of the All Is Not OK in Oklahoma podcast, starting another show called Only Murderers in the Building, profiting from the success of Mabel, Oliver and Charles’s podcast while they’re still under suspicion for Bunny’s murder.
Meanwhile, Mabel starts dating an artist named Alice, played by Cara Delevigne, Oliver finds out that he’s not his son’s biological father and Charles reconnects with his former stepdaughter, Lucy. Plus, the trio continue to work on their podcast to clear their names and find out who really killed Bunny.
They discover that there are secret tunnels inside the Arconia building and become suspicious of Alice and Lucy. But, they soon find out who the real killer is. So, Mabel, Charles and Oliver host a killer reveal party for their neighbours and listeners, where they accuse Cinda of killing Bunny, before putting the blame on Alice who then tries to stab Mabel, but ends up stabbing Charles instead!
While the panicked Arconians wait for the ambulance to arrive, Cinda approaches Mabel and congratulates her on solving the case, even offering her a job and her very own podcast, but this seriously annoys Cinda’s assistant, Poppy.
We learn that Poppy is not who she says she is, but is actually named Becky, the subject of Cinda’s All Is Not OK in Oklahoma podcast. Poppy faked her disappearance, changed her identity and approached Cinda to make the podcast about Becky. Poppy, AKA Becky, reveals all about her seducing Detective Kreps and working together to orchestrate a plan to kill someone, blame it on Cinda then reap the rewards of catching her.
We quickly learn the murder reveal party was a police operation in disguise, Charles is completely fine and Poppy is arrested by Detective Williams. Now, with the killer found and case closed, Mabel, Oliver and Charles go their separate ways. Mabel continues to date Alice, Charles gets back into acting and Oliver reconnects with his son despite them knowing they’re not related.
Fast forward to one year later where Mabel and Oliver go to see Charles in his new play, where he stars alongside Ben Glenroy, played by Paul Rudd. But, when the curtains open, Ben falls to the ground and drops dead on stage. Incoming, season three!
