If you're a fan of the BBC competition series Race Across The World, then we have some very exciting news for you. A celebrity version of the series is officially happening!
Yep, that's right, the spin-off series was confirmed by BBC commissioning editor Michael Jochnowitz during a press conference for Race Across The World season three and he revealed the series has already been filmed.
So when will the new series take place? And which celebrities are taking part? This is everything you need to know about Celebrity Race Across The World.
What is the release date of Celebrity Race Across The World?
After being postponed following the earthquake in Morocco on 8th September, the new release date for Celebrity Race Across The World has been confirmed as Wednesday 20th September.
The earthquake saw over 2,500 people reported dead, and as the series was filmed in Morocco, the BBC confirmed the first episode of the series would be postponed.
"The BBC has announced that in light of the earthquake in Morocco, the first episode of Celebrity Race Across the World will be postponed," they wrote on Twitter.
"We of course started off our journey in Marrakesh – it’s a beautiful city and we were so warmly welcomed by everyone during filming. Our hearts go out to the people of the country, and our thoughts are with them."
The first episode was originally set to air on 13th September.

On 31st August 2023, two weeks before the spin-off was due to land, the BBC dropped the trailer. In it, we join the all-star line up and their family members in Marrakesh, Morocco as we watch them begin their challenge:
Which celebrities are taking part?
After months of anticipation the lineup for the celebrity version of Race Across The World has been confirmed!
Starring in the new series will be McFly's Harry Judd and his mum Emma, broadcaster Alex Beresford and his dad Noel, All Saints' Mel Blatt and her mum Helene, and finally, British racing driver and pundit Billy Monger and his sister Bonny.
Where are the celebrities travelling?
This spin-off series will see the celebrities start their journey in Marrakech and race across Europe to reach their final destination of Tromsø, Norway, which is known as the Arctic capital.
Their journeys are said to cover 24 countries and over 10,000km, with the pairs travelling through Mediterranean ports, the Alps, Baltic states and Scandinavia.
What is Race Across The World?
Race Across The World is a BBC competition series in which five or six pairs of ordinary Brits, often family, friends or partners, compete against each to reach a certain part of the world first. In previous years it's taken place in South America, Europe and Canada.
They have a series of check points to reach and when they reach the final one, the winning pair receives £20,000.
However they are unable to use their phones, or travel by air. Instead they are given a world map, GPS tracker to track their progress, a travel guide with local job adverts and a money belt with cash at the start of the journey. They can then use these to travel via sea or land to reach each check point.
Will the celebrity version be any different?
When sharing the news of the new series BBC commissioning editor Michael Jochnowitz said the series would follow a similar format of the first series, with the celebrities travelling across multiple countries, unlike the new third series of the regular version which will see contestants travel across Canada.
Jochnowitz said: "It's probably more of a traditional race in terms of number of countries that they're going to travel through. It will be out later this year."
It's also likely the celebrities will be competing for the £20,000 prize fund for a chosen charity, as if often the case with celebrity competition series.
Now it's been confirmed the series will only have four pairs competing in the series as opposed to the traditional five and the series will be six episodes long as opposed to the usual 10 in the regular series.
