Lily James has appeared to speak out about photos of her kissing her Pursuit of Love co-star Dominic West, admitting, "it was a lot".
To recap, Lily, 32, went viral back in October 2020 after she was photographed kissing Dominic on a scooter in Rome, in pictures published by the Daily Mail. Dominic, 52, has been married to Catherine FitzGerald since 2010.
At the time, Dominic and Catherine famously posed for photos outside their home following publication of the images, before issuing a handwritten statement explaining that their "marriage is strong and we’re very much still together. Thank you."
Now, Lily has appeared to speak out about the experience in a new interview. Seeming to discuss the scrutiny, she told Rolling Stone, "Women in the public eye at some point experience some sort of difficult situation in that relationship between privacy and your life being in the tabloids."
Appearing to refer to her own experience, she went on, "It was a lot. It’s a story as old as time."
The actress, who is currently starring in Hulu's Pam & Tommy, previously referenced the photos back in May 2021. In an interview with The Guardian, Lily was asked "what it was like to be at the centre of a media storm," responding: "Ach, I’m not really willing to talk about that. There is a lot to say, but not now, I’m afraid."
Lily and Dominic both starred in 2021 BBC TV series The Pursuit Of Love, with Lily appearing as aristocratic heroine Linda Radlett while Dominic played her father Matthew.
Now, Lily has made headlines for her role as Pamela Anderson, in new series Pam & Tommy, telling the story of Anderson and Tommy Lee's leaked sex tape.
