Liam Payne of One Direction fame is no longer engaged to Maya Henry, after confirming he has split from his fiancée.
The 28-year-old singer revealed he and the 21-year-old model had called off plans to get married, instead using their time to focus on themselves.
Confirming that he is now single, Liam told Steven Barlett on the Diary of a CEO podcast, "I feel like more than anything at this point, I'm more disappointed in myself that I keep on hurting people.
"That annoys me. I've just not been very good at relationships. And I know what my pattern of things is with relationships at this point. I'm just not very good at them so I just need to work on myself before I put myself on to somebody else."
Liam then touched on the reason behind the split, adding, "That's where I got to in my last relationship. I just wasn't giving a very good version of me anymore, that I didn't appreciate and I didn't like being. I can honestly say I feel better out of it.
"I didn't feel good doing what I did but it had to happen. Just a corny way to say it was the best for us both."
Liam and Maya were first linked in August 2018, when they were spotted on a number of dates in London. They later confirmed their engagement during lockdown in August 2020, with Liam telling Good Morning America, "We’re just really happy. The last week I’ve had a birthday, my son has gone to school for the first time today, so it feels like a lot of firsts for me actually, which is great!"
Here's to hoping they're both doing well following the break up.
