- Gigi Hadid took to Instagram to share a heartfelt message for mum Yolanda on Mother's Day in the US.
- The pregnant model says she wants to 'emulate' her own mother when her tot arrives later this year.
It won't be too long before Gigi Hadid becomes a first-time mum. And it appears she's already taking inspiration from someone pretty special - her own mum!
The pregnant star posted a loving Mother's Day message for her mum Yolanda this weekend, telling fans she wants to "emulate" the 56-year-old.
"Best I could ever ask for. ❤️ Happy Mother’s Day to the one I’ll do my best to emulate," Gigi wrote. "I love you beyond words @yolanda.hadid you are a superhero!!!!!"
Alongside the caption, the 25-year-old model shared a stunning photo of herself and Yolanda - who was pregnant at the time - on a beach during a family holiday. How cute!
Fans were quick to comment on the sweet message. "Yes, you will. We can't wait to see your bump," one said, while another wrote, "That'll be you in a couple of months!!!"
Gigi also shared several photos on Instagram Stories to honour Yolanda, who is also mum to sister Bella and brother Anwar.
News broke that Gigi and her long-term boyfriend Zayn Malik were expecting their first child last month.
Speaking to RTL Boulevard, a Dutch publication, Yolanda said that although she was "shocked our little secret got leaked to press," she was very "excited" by the announcement.
"I’m excited to become a grandmother in September, especially after I lost my mum so recently. But this is the beauty of life. One soul leaves us and a new one comes in. We feel very blessed," she said.
Meanwhile, Gigi later appeared on The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon to confirm the news herself. After Fallon congratulated her, she said: "We're very excited and happy and grateful for everyone's well wishes and support."
Jimmy added: "It was the ray of sunshine that we all need."
Gigi is apparently already five months pregnant and there has been no word on whether or not the baby is a girl or a boy.
