It seems the Hailey Bieber/Selena Gomez drama could finally be grinding to a halt, as Selena has spoken out amidst claims that the two women have been throwing subtle shade on social media.
It all started when Selena Gomez released her new song 'Lose You to Love Me', which includes the lyrics "In two months you replaced us like it was easy / Made me think I deserved it in the thick of healing". Fans decided the lyrics were about Justin Bieber shacking up with Hailey with rapid speed after splitting from Selena, and tbh we think they might be right.
Soon after, Hailey posted a screenshot on her Instagram story of a song called 'I'll Kill You' by Summer Walker, and super-sleuth followers were convinced it was aimed at Selena in response to her lyrics, though Hailey called the claims "nonsense" in a now-deleted Instagram comment.
Now, Selena has spoken out about the supposed feud during an Instagram Live video, saying, "I am grateful for the response that the song is getting. I'm so grateful."
Addressing the hate directed towards Hailey, she continued, "However, I do not stand for women tearing women down, and I will never, ever be by that."
Selena finished with a message to her fans, pleading, "So please be kind to everyone. It doesn't matter what the situation is. If you're my fans, don't be rude to anybody please. Don't go off and say things that you just feel in the moment.
"Just please, for me, know that that's not my heart. My heart is only to release things that I feel, that are me and that I'm proud of. And that's all that I'll say."
That's a message we can get on board with. Reckon we'll see Hailey and Selena become best mates in the near future? Maybe hang fire on that one.
