Love Island 2019 is coming to a close (no you're crying) and so the inevitable reunion with Islanders' families has happened. On last night's episode, Curtis got a text with a cute selfie of his and Maura's families together outside the villa. Seconds later, they strolled in.

Naturally, the reunion didn't quite go to plan. For one thing, Curtis's mum kept calling Maura 'Moira' which is just awkward. And then there was the small issue that Maura's mum gave Curtis a quick hug and hello, before pushing him aside to make a beeline for Ovie.

Curtis asks Mama Higgins "How are you?" but she doesn't reply to him because she has spotted Ovie. "This is the man I want to see!" she exclaims about everyone's fave Islander, before giving him the biggest hug since records began.

Later, when Maura asks her mum what she thinks of Curtis, there's a LOT of hesitation. "He's nice," she finally says. "There’s obviously something you see in him." So. Awkward.

"Maura’s mother is not vibing to Curtis at alllllll," one Twitter user wrote. "Maura's Mudda is already a LEGEND," said another. "Seeing straight through Curtis' snake shit and heading straight for Ovie."

Whatever her opinions are of Curtis and Ovie and all the couples, the one thing viewers are certain of is that mums always know best.
