This morning, we woke up to the smashing news that Taylor Swift had released the video for new single, ‘ME!’, which features Panic! At The Disco’s Brendan Urie.
We knew something big was coming today as Taylor’s been teasing us with “4/26” comments on her Instagram for a while now, but boy were we happy that her big surprise was a music video stuffed-full of hidden meanings and Easter eggs.
But there’s one moment in particular that’s sending her fans round the bend, and it’s all to do with something Taylor said about the video – she commented, “Oh and there’s a secret in the video I’ve been keeping for months – let’s see who can guess it.”
Which leads us to this…
At one point in the video, Brendan – who’s playing Taylor’s gentleman friend – presents her with an engagement ring. So understandably, everyone has jumped to the conclusion that Taylor’s boyfriend, actor Joe Alwyn, has proposed to her.
Seeing as Taylor and Joe are insanely private about their relationship, there is a good chance he popped the question months ago, and they’ve kept the exciting news to themselves.
But, before you go getting ahead of yourself, as one fan pointed out, soon after Brendan proposes, he also hands her a kitten. So is the secret she’s been hiding from us for months actually that she got a new kitten.
Now, as wildly exciting as a new pet is, we just realllllllllllly wanted the secret to be an engagement.
