Anyone who has tried to balance an exercise routine with a busy social and work life knows it isn't easy. Fitting in workouts and keeping an eye on all those healthy habits we know we should be following can be a lot – and yet we all know the benefits, so balance we do.

For Pamela, who fits in her own strict workout plan on top of creating fitness content for her social media fans, that balance is key – as is anything that can help her achieve it. "As a fitness and lifestyle personality, looking good is really important to me. I genuinely love the fact the Watch GT 4 doesn’t look anything like a smartwatch. It’s a really beautiful, stylish watch and yet it is crammed so full of fitness tech," says Pamela.

"My favourite design is the two-tone gold and silver metal strap. It’s classic, slim and sophisticated. The way the strap is sort of detached from the watch case makes it feel really discreet and feminine, which I love."

Planning an effective exercise routine

"I typically create a weekly routine, based on four days of exercise and three days of recovery," Pamela says. "The key thing is varying my routines and schedule to keep things interesting, while maintaining the core programme structure.

"The Watch GT 4 has been great at suggesting alternative workouts when I’m lacking inspiration. I’ve been surprised how much I’ve used the workout trackers and guides – they’re really, really good and super-helpful."

As well as being a pocket-sized personal trainer, the Watch GT 4 also gives you the low-down on the calories you've burnt while working out (and who doesn't find that motivating?). "Being able to accurately track the impact of each session I do via my health metrics is really empowering," says Pamela. "I always feel great after a workout, but being able to analyse the impact on my body makes it doubly satisfying!"

Heart rate monitoring

If you're even slightly serious about fitness, you've probably come across heart rate monitoring before. There are plenty of devices designed exclusively for this purpose, but with the Huawei Watch GT 4, it's wrapped up in the functionality alongside other neat features such as menstrual cycle tracking, sleep analysis and workout suggestions.

And, says Pamela, it's impressively accurate – whether she's sweating it out with a cardio workout or practicing some stress-management. "I like to start the day with some meditation, and it’s really great to see how it lowers my heart rate in real time," she reveals.
