We don’t know about you, but we are ready for s-u-m-m-e-r. Swimming at the local lido. Eating al fresco every night, basically. Going out sans jacket and being totally okay?! A dream.

With sunnier days on the horizon, we’ve decided to get ahead on all things fashion. AKA, plan all the looks we want to wear so we’re ready when temperatures hit the mid-20s.

As for inspo, that’s all pointing to one mood: playfulness. From our feeds to our friends, and even on the high street, it’s all about style that doesn't take itself too seriously and makes a statement. Right on cue for our summer refresh, The Primark Scene is dialling up the play with a collection packed with take-notice pieces.

Bold colours cover baby tees and maxi skirts, while super-short shorts and loose-fit trousers bring fun proportions to modern wardrobes. Whether you're more of a loud maximalist or loyal minimalist, joy is non-negotiable.

Here’s our round-up of ways to inject some play into warm-weather wardrobes.

Clash, don’t match

When playing with colour, instinct will tell you to go safe and tonal, but the real impact lies in going off-script. Need something to go with your classic jorts? A red cami top will deliver a cool collegiate combo. Want to lean into the yellow trend? Go full sun and sky with a lemon asymmetric top and bright blue trousers. The sweet spot between looking chic and downright confused comes from picking colours that don’t totally agree but still work. Trust us, the bolder the better.

Tiny top, big energy

As temperatures go up, so does our appetite for extremes. Sure, lighter layers and shorter cuts make sense in the heat, but this summer, it’s all about playing proportions in a way that feels a little unexpected: a slogan baby tee with a sweeping maxi skirt, or a relaxed graphic shirt with a denim mini. The result? Outfits that do the most, with minimal effort.

Say it in stripes

We know what you’re thinking: stripes in summer are hardly groundbreaking. But they are a great way to amp up your basics. Breezy candy-stripe shorts, a nautical red and white two-piece, a bold, green dress. We’re smiling just thinking about sunny jaunts in our summer stripes!
