If you’d told us a year ago that ‘bad boy hockey player caught in a love triangle’ would be on our 2026 watchlist, we’d have laughed. Then we’d have asked you to tell us more.
Thanks to BookTok’s latest obsession, hockey romance has gone from niche to must-watch and Prime Video’s latest series Off Campus is delivering the goods with love triangles, tension and plenty of steam.
Coming after a year of easy, beach house dramas like We Were Liars and The Summer I Turned Pretty, this show turns things up a notch, and goes deeper into the traumas and experiences that underpin modern love stories – against the backdrop of winter college sports of course.

So, what is Off Campus about?
Adapted from Elle Kennedy’s BookTok-beloved novels, Off Campus tracks the lives and loves of an elite hockey team at the fictional Briar University. Like the original novels, each season puts a different team member in the spotlight, following his individual story as it plays out within the wider universe. With several books and spin-offs under Kennedy’s belt, we could have a meaty series run ahead of us.
Season One picks up with team captain Garrett (Belmont Cameli), who finds himself in a complicated ‘fake relationship’ with quiet musician Hannah (Ella Bright). The goal? To make her crush jealous. It’s a classic trope, sure, but done through a steamier-than-your-average YA narrative. These characters are in college, so even if they’re not fully working through their issues yet, they’re at least aware of them. We see them juggling emotional baggage and romantic relationships, and well, it gets messy.
It doesn’t hold back on the heat, either. Anyone who’s devoured the OG novels will know things at Briar U get pretty steamy at times and the Prime Video series stays true to Kennedy’s sex-positive writing, unpacking Hannah and Garrett’s connection both emotionally and physically in a way that makes those steamy moments feel earned and intentional.

How many episodes of Off Campus are there?
