Dopo un lungo periodo di pausa, Dove Cameron è pronta a tornare con nuova musica e, ovviamente, lo ha fatto sapere in grande stile. L'attrice e cantante americana ha pubblicato a febbraio 2025 il singolo "Too Much" ad anticipare il nuovo album che dovrebbe uscire nel corso di quest'anno. Nel frattempo, Dove Cameron non è certo rimasta con le mani in mano: il 20 marzo è stata ospite del The Tonight Show con Jimmy Fallon dove ha regalato ai fan la prima esibizione dal vivo di "Too Much".

La popstar ha cominciato la performance confondendosi tra teste di manichini, poi ha continuato con energia il brano, svelando sotto all'impermeabile un completo bralette e minigonna tempestato di strass e firmato Dolce&Gabbana, abbinato a una tuta trasparente e stivali alti stringati in vernice nera. Dietro al suo look, svela Dove su Instagram, c'è lo stylist Michele Potenza, che da anni segue Damiano David, e che il cantante sembra gentilmente aver deciso di condividere con la compagna.

Come ha raccontato Dove Cameron in un'intervista a Billboard Usa, "Too Much" è un brano che racconta le dinamiche di una sua precedente relazione, in cui il partner invece di supportarla tendeva costantemente a sminuirla. «Un giorno ho capito che non è compito mio rimpicciolirmi per adattarmi a una forma che ti fa sentire più a tuo agio. Spero solo che chiunque sia giovane e che lotti con la sensazione di essere troppo grande, troppo grosso ovunque vada, ascolti questo mio messaggio». Se nel passato di Dove Cameron ci sono ombre, il presente è luminoso, anche grazie a Damiano David, a cui è legata da febbraio 2024.

Racconta la cantante che l'influenza del frontman dei Maneskin nella sua vita le ha permesso di vivere un momento felice, nel privato e artisticamente, tanto che, anticipa, il suo prossimo album non avrà le sfumature malinconiche di Alchemical: Volume 1 (2023): «Sono in un momento così diverso della mia vita. In questo momento mi sento così vista e così amata, specialmente da tutti i miei amici e dal mio attuale compagno». Poi Dove Cameron continua: «Ho iniziato a trovare un nuovo tipo di ispirazione e a entrare in me stessa in un modo che non avevo mai fatto prima». Così la prossima era della cantante sarà più pop, dance e divertente, proprio come ci ha fatto intendere la sua performance tra strass, coreografie e manichini.
