Forever Home was announced yesterday to be arriving on Channel 5 and is based on Graham Norton's novel of the same name. Yes, as in the chat show host extraordinaire Graham Norton, who has now written five novels since 2016.
The series will star Denise alongside Strictly's Lewis Cope and Emmerdale's Amy Nuttall in a tense family plot. Curious to know more? Here's everything we know about the newly announced Forever Home.
What is Forever Home about?
Forever Home is Graham Norton's fourth novel, released in 2022 and the TV series is expected to follow a similar plot to the book.
According to the Channel 5 synopsis the series will follow the main character of Carol Crottie, and what happens when: "Her older partner Robert's dementia worsens, Carol Crottie starts to wonder if the reason he won’t leave his home has something to do with the whereabouts of his first wife, who ran off with Robert’s brother 20 years ago, leaving behind their two young children Kaden and Sally.
"When Robert’s anxiety about the house’s hidden basement, rises, Carol’s curiosity is piqued as she and her mother investigate the whereabouts of Robert’s first wife, Joan. But the secrets Robert has kept will take a long time to untangle."
When the novel first debuted it was well received by readers and critics alike, with The Observer saying the novel is: "possessed of a super twist and full of rounded characters to keep close to your heart."
Who will star in Forever Home?
Leading the cast of Forever Home as Carol Crottie is former Emmerdale and Downton Abbey actress Amy Nuttall. Starring alongside Nuttall as her well-meaning but suspicious mother Moira Crottie, is Denise Welch, who rose to fame playing Natalie Barnes in Coronation Street.
