Yesterday Naga Munchetty revealed the shocking news she was stepping down from BBC Breakfast after 17 years on the programme and now many fans are wondering who will be set to take her place on the iconic red couch.
For over a decade Naga has been the main-stay presenter on the morning show, and currently presents it three days a week, and then three days are spent on 5 Live's mid-morning programme.
However, yesterday it was confirmed Naga would be stepping away entirely from BBC Breakfast and will now be joining BBC Radio 5 Live at the start of 2027, replacing Rachel Burden and Rick Edwards on the morning programme.
Speaking about her new role, Naga said: "It has been a privilege to be part of the BBC Breakfast TV team for the past 17 years, working alongside an incredibly talented and hard-working group of journalists who are not only outstanding colleagues but also great friends.
"Presenting a flagship programme on 5 Live is an opportunity that was simply too good to pass up.
"It will take a huge amount of work and require 100% of my focus and energy, and I'm really looking forward to throwing myself into the role."
The BBC are yet to announce her permanent replacement on the Breakfast show, however, there are number of rumoured presenters set to take her seat and here's all the names we've seen so far.
Who will replace Naga Munchetty on BBC Breakfast?
Sally Nugent
The number one presenter rumoured to be stepping into Naga's shoes is current Breakfast presenter Sall Nugent. Sally currently already appears on the show on the days Naga is not on air and a source told The Sun, she is currently being eyed to present the show.
The source claimed: "Bosses were thrilled with Sally Nugent's recent interview with Nigel Farage and called down to say they wanted Sally covering more chats of that ilk."
Nina Warhurst
Another familiar face that could be set to join the morning lineup is Nina Warhurst. Nina currently presents BBC News at One, but has previously appeared on the Breakfast show as a business and consumer presenter, so there's a possibility she could also be in the running.
Emma Vardy
One name a lot of people on social media are suggesting could be the next presenter is Emma Vardy. The former BBC Ireland correspondent has regularly filled in on the sofa for Naga and therefore could easily be someone we could see step into the role.
Luxmy Gopal
Over the years we've seen Luxmy more and more on our screens on BBC Breakfast, often appearing on the weekends and over Christmas. With her curernt experience on the show, she also be an easy fit for the programme.
