While the first three episodes of A Taste For Murder had us gripped thanks to the storyline, we're also still obsessed with the stunning filming locations as the fourth episode lands on our screens tonight. But where was A Taste For Murder actually filmed? Here's what you need to know about the real-life Italian (and Croatian!) destinations featured in the drama.
If you couldn't already tell, A Taste for Murder is set in Italy with drool-worthy food to match - DCI Joe Mottram's parents-in-law are the owners of a beachside family restaurant, sharing their recipes with him and his teenage daughter, Angelica, when they come to stay for some much needed TLC following his wife and Angelica's mum's sudden death.
Alas, similarly to how just as you sit down to enjoy a meal the doorbell goes or the dog kicks off, DCI Mottram is far from allowed easy respite. Instead, his trip to Capri interrupted when a murder case crops up - classic - and he is pulled in to help figure out exactly what happened.
Between the nail-biting drama and scrumptious food, you may also find yourself eyeing up the stunning scenery which A Taste for Murder is backdropped to. And if you find yourself wondering where the locations are for a cheeky last-minute getaway? Don't worry, we've got you covered.
Although, if you had your sights set on Italy, just because the ITV drama is set in the luxurious, sun-soaked island of Capri surrounded by the Tyrrhenian Sea, that doesn't necessarily mean all the scenes were filmed in that exact location...
Where was A Taste for Murder filmed?
Italy
Capri
The six-part series is set in Capri, Italy, and thankfully, it was also partially filmed there.
For those unacquainted with Capri, it's a lush Italian island located in the Bay of Naples, just off the Amalfi Coast, and is renowned for its dramatic cliffs and studded with coves. It also has a luxurious reputation, thanks to its hefty price tag. Sold...?!
Naples
Other Italian locations reportedly included Naples, the capital of Campania in the south of Italy, known as the birth place of pizza - add that to your pub quiz knowledge - as well as for its vibrant, chaotic, and historic energy. Filming took place in the vibrant Naples neighbourhood of Marianella, according to Prime Timer.
Interestingly, though, Italy wasn't actually the show's main filming location, despite the action being set in it. In fact, much of the filming for A Taste for Murder actually taking place in Croatia.
Croatia
Opatija
Opatija is a coastal town in West Croatia dubbed the "Pearl of the Adriatic" sea, dotted with picturesque villas and pebbly coves.
They filmed on the Franjo Josip I Coastal Promenade which is a 12km seaside walkway and can be seen in episode four here:
The exterior of the five-star Hotel Milenij was also used for filming a number of scenes. The hotel is centred perfectly for stunning sea views.
Volosko
Volosko is part of Opatija, specifically a fishing village within the town known for showcasing some exquisite restaurants. Think: beautiful boats in tiny harbours, pastel coloured houses and cobbled streets. The cast specifically filmed at the Caffe Bar Surf right by the sea in Volosko and on a stretch of road called Andrije Štangera Street.
Labin
And Labin? A town in Istria featuring gorgeous historic buildings and spectacular views from the hilltop.
Zagreb
Oh and let's not forget a quick stop in Zagreb. The capital of Croatia's Dubrava University Hospital and Museum of Arts and Crafts also reportedly appearing as the backdrop to several scenes in A Taste for Murder too.
We even spotted flights online to Zagreb from London for a mere £17...
And it'll certainly be a lot warmer at this time of year opposed to when the drama was filmed, lead actor Warren Brown telling BBC Breakfast earlier today, 6th May: "It looks a hell of a lot warmer on camera. It was earlier in the year and the weather wasn't always amazing."
Although, the actor was quick to note when you watch the series it all looks "fantastic" - post production wizardry sunnying it up a bit.
And if you're looking to track down the location of specific scenes...
Where is the Da Vinale’s restaurant?
And if you fancied a visit to Da Vinale's restaurant? Well, scenes set in the Da Vinale's family restaurant were reportedly filmed in Opatija.
Series producer Jo McGrath reflected, as quoted by Country and Town House: "The moment the team came back from the recce and showed us the location, we knew we had a show.
"It’s a beautiful location but abandoned and a little worn. The vista and the view were everything we had envisaged for the show."
And a fun related fact about the police precinct...
Where is the police precinct?
The location of the Da Vinale family taverna in Opatija reportedly doubled as the location for the show's police precinct. Handy that.
A Taste of Murder continues on ITV1 tonight and the full series is available to watch on ITVX.
