If you're after a new series to binge watch on Netflix this weekend, then you need to put Bodies on your list.

The sci-fi drama begins when a police detective finds a body on Longharvest Lane in London's East End, but then, we go back in time and into the future to learn that the exact same body was also found in 1890, 1941 and 2053. Yes, really!

So, does Longharvest Lane exist in real life and where was Bodies filmed? Here's what we know.

Is Longharvest Lane in Bodies a real place?

Bodies begins when DS Shahara Hasan (Amaka Okafor) is led to a body on Longharvest Lane in Whitechapel, east London. But, if you fancy taking a visit there after watching the series, we're here to let you know that Longharvest Lane is not a real place. Sorry, sci-fi fans!

But, Whitechapel — where the series is set — is very much a real place in London's East End and small parts of the series were filmed there, such as the final scene.

Where was Bodies filmed?

So, the majority of the series actually wasn't filmed in Whitechapel, or London! It was filmed in and around Yorkshire.

The scenes in Longharvest Lane and the surrounding area were shot in Sheffield and scenes depicting Whitechapel were actually filmed in Hull and Bradford.

The more you know!
