While June marked the beginning of summer, July is where things really kick off. I'm talking frolicking in fields with questionable phone signal (read: it's festival season!), befriending everyone within a five metre radius at your local pub garden and tanning beside the Mediterranean with a Fanta lemon in hand. Pure bliss.
And with that comes the annual urge to go all out with our manicures. After all, your nails are in every Aperol Spritz pic, every beach-book flat lay and every squinty-eyed golden hour selfie!
So, for your tips to qualify as IG grid-ready, we've rounded up the best nail trends of summer 2026. From juicy coral shades to magnetic cat eyes and barely-there pinks, these are mani colours and designs worth booking in for.
Halo nails
Halo nails – first popularised by the It Girl herself, Dua Lipa, last year – are the perfect example of a wearable manicure that's equal parts polished and playful. A curved arc of colour follows the cuticle around to frame the nail while a contrasting tone is diffused into the centre; together, this creates a neat and subtle halo effect. And when holidays and hectic summer schedules make a case for low-maintenance manicures which stretch time between nail appointments, halo nails are even more appealing. By concentrating colour around the outer edges and cuffs of the nails, growth looks almost invisible.
Rose water nails
Inspired by the soft pink tint of rose water, this manicure pairs a sheer hue with a glossy finish that allows the natural nail to still show through. The result is a water-like wash of colour. Think you've seen this before? Well, rose water nails are essentially the latest evolution of the soap nail trend, combining the clean, natural-looking effect of soap nails with the translucence of jelly nails through a delicate pink tint.
Cat eye nails
Festival season calls for high-impact beauty, and nothing screams that more than cat eye nails. To achieve the cat eye nail effect, a magnetic gel polish filled with tiny metallic particles is used. Then (before curing), a magnet is held over the nail to pull the shimmer into shape, creating a luminous streak that shifts and catches the light as your hands move. The finished effect is glossy, expensive-looking, and impossible not to stare at, sitting at a mesmerising intersection somewhere between crushed velvet and liquid chrome.

Milky rosé
For summer 2026, many celebs – including Victoria Beckham, Cat Deeley and Amanda Holden – are paring the nail art back and instead, opting for a minimalist look – and it's one we're dubbing milky rosé nails. As its name would suggest, this is a set defined by a chalky wash of pale pink, resulting in an ultra-clean, freshly washed look that goes with every single outfit. Of course, the overall design can be tailored to individual taste with ombré, gemstones, dainty nail art or decals, but at its core, the neutral milky rosé base works for all occasions. And the best part? Because of its neutral colour, it's super forgiving on grow-out! Can't book an infill for another three weeks? No sweat.
Peach nails
Nail trends tend to arrive with the reliability of a supermarket peach – rock hard one minute, existential mush the next – but this one has genuine staying power. Peach nails are soft, juicy and universally flattering, but above all, they make a tan look like it’s just returned from a restorative fling in the Mediterranean, Emily Henry novel style. It’s less shouty than neon coral, less expected than baby pink and somehow manages to look expensive while still feeling like a picnic in manicure form. In short, it’s the ripest pick of the season.
Espresso nails
There's no denying that the sun is a signal for lighter, brighter aesthetics – particularly when it comes to manicures. But this summer, Zendaya is making a case for darker, vampier colours. For the euro-leg of the Spider-Man: Brand New Day press tour, the actor (who has also been serving us some serious flapper bob inspo) has been sporting an elegantly glossy espresso manicure, and it has given #justice for those who crave richness in the pigment of our manis!
Coral nails
Manicure lovers – or really, anyone with a watchful eye on Instagram and Pinterest – will have spotted variations of fresh, joyful coral nails all over the algorithm, just in time for the holiday season. And it’s for good reason! Coral is known as one of the best colours for flattering sun-kissed skin and making a post-holiday tan pop.
