I’m not claiming to be the deity of our collective shift towards becoming more stone-fruit adjacent, but ever since I started doing bi-weekly bulk buys of Medjool dates and treating a trip to Tesco like a spiritual pilgrimage (read: I’ve succumbed to the Gen Z ‘health is wealth’ movement), the trend has undeniably gathered pace. We’re living through a produce renaissance! Tomatoes became fashion girls, cherries had their coquettish little era, and now, peaches are enjoying their divinely ordained moment under beauty’s spotlight – or rather, the spotlight of a nail UV lamp.

Nail trends tend to arrive with the reliability of a supermarket peach – rock hard one minute, existential mush the next – but this one has genuine staying power. Peach nails are soft, juicy and universally flattering, but above all, they make a tan look like it’s just returned from a restorative fling in the Mediterranean, Emily Henry novel style.

Soft orange with a blushy undertone, peach sits in that delicious sweet spot between playful and polished. It’s less shouty than neon coral, less expected than baby pink and somehow manages to look expensive while still feeling like a picnic in manicure form. In short, it’s the ripest pick of the season.

And the best part? Peach manis can be tailored entirely to your taste. Minimalists can opt for micro French tips in a barely-there apricot hue, while maximalists may wish to go full fruit bowl with tiny peach decals or glossy, glass-like finishes that look positively nectarous. Then there are chrome peach adaptations that draw the eyes to a metallic sheen, while a syrupy jelly finish feels almost edible.

And things get especially peachy with colour combinations. Pair the shade with sky blue for a fresh, Amalfi-like contrast, or add touches of pink to make the warmth pop. In essence, what I’m saying is there’s no need to cling to a single interpretation when the entire orchard is available!

Ultimately, peach nails are everything we want from summer beauty and more: warmth, a hint of nostalgia and the ability to make us look more bronzed than we perhaps deserve. The pits? There are none. Instead, just 12 inspiration pics to take to your next salon appointment…
