Between TikTok's blurring filters and years of Photoshop faux pas (read: warped body parts, slender man hands, ecetera, ecetera), it can be difficult to distinguish between reality and dystopian reality – and not the fun kind. In other words, social media editing has somewhat led to blurred lines of what it means to be 'natural'. Not to mention heightened and unachievable beauty standards. Gah!
Throwing my hands up in mock despair won't help anyone, I know, but a small gesture that can turn the dial ever so slightly is a glimpse into reality. And today, we've been given a glimpse into Lily Allen's reality, who just bared all to her 2.1 million followers with a totally makeup-free, unedited selfie.
Can I get a collective "praise be!"?
Lily was once known for her signature winged eyeliner, but now, she's turned the volume right down with no makeup at all.

So, this is a refreshing reminder that while great skincare, makeup tricks and smoothing filters can help with the appearance of smoother skin, when it comes down to it, texture is a real human feature.
