Meet the ‘Lucky’ Cast and Characters

She’s a star criminal and she’s on the run!

If you’re enjoying Your Friends & Neighbors on Apple TV+, good news. Creator Jonathan Tropper now has a second crime thriller on the platform with an equally impressive line-up. Here’s what you need to know about the cast of Lucky, starting with Anya Taylor-Joy, Annette Bening, Drew Starkey, and more.

The series is based on a novel by Marissa Stapley about a woman (Taylor-Joy) who gets unexpectedly thrown back into the life of crime she grew up in. Other supporting cast members include William Fichter (Heat, Strange Days), Mo McRae (Sons of Anarchy, Pitch), Eric Lange (Lost, Narcos), and Joey Graziadei (The Bachelorette, The Batchelor, Dancing With The Stars... no really!) As for the major players in this dangerous world, here’s who to know.

Anya Taylor-Joy plays Lucky Armstrong

The titular character, Lucky, is a past/present/future criminal and a survivor.

Anya is best known for The Witch and The Queen’s Gambit, for which she won a Golden Globe an SAG Award. You also know her from Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga, The Menu, Glass, and of course Emma. Later this year, she also plays Timothée Chalamet and Zendaya’s child (sure) in Dune: Part Three.

Annette Bening plays Priscilla Matheson

Priscilla is a powerful mob boss.

Annette is a five time Academy Award nominee (The Grifters, American Beauty, Being Julia, The Kids Are Alright, Nyad), a ten time Golden Globe nominee (and two time winner) as well as an Emmy nominee, SAG winner, and Tony nominee. NBD!

Drew Starkey plays Cary Matheson

Cary is Lucky’s husband.

No relation to CIA agent Carrie Mathison, the protagonist of Homeland played by Claire Danes... right?

Drew broke out in the Netflix mystery/coming-of-age series Outer Banks and received critical acclaim for his supporting role in Luca Guadagnino’s Queer. His other film credits include The Hate U Give, The Devil All The Time, and Love, Simon.

Aunjanue Ellis-Taylor plays Agent Billie Rand

Agent Rand is with the FBI.

You know Aunjanue for any of many roles. She is a four time SAG nominee for Ray, Lovecraft Country, King Richard, and The Color Purple. For King Richard, she was also nominated for a BAFTA and an Academy Award. For Lovecraft Country, she was nominated for a Emmy. She also has an Emmy nomination for When They See Us.

Timothy Olyphant plays John Armstrong

John is Lucky’s father.

Timothy is also in The Five Star Weekend this summer. You may also recognize him from Santa Clarita Diet, Deadwood, and Justified. He is an Emmy nominee three times over for Justified, Deadwood: The Movie, and his guest star appearance in The Mandalorian.

Clifton Collins Jr. plays Harris "Dutch" Ocampo

Dutch is one of Priscilla’s associates. That means do not mess with him.

Clifton is a SAG winner for Traffic and a nominee for Capote. He was nominated for an Emmy for Thief and an Independent Spirit Award for Jockey. His TV credits include Westworld, Ballers, and The Event. His film credits include Guillermo Del Toro films like Pacific Rim and Nightmare Alley as well as, recently, Red White and Royal Blue.
