Law Roach just sat down for Ziwe’s You’d Be an Iconic Guest and it was genuinely the most iconic episode Ziwe's given us yet. I mean:

But on top of moments like this ^ Law Roach spoke about the brands he won't dress Zendaya in because they snubbed her when she was first starting out.

"You have an unofficial red carpet boycott on Saint Laurent, Dior, Valentino, Chanel and Gucci because they said no to dressing Zendaya when you first started out, can you turn to camera and tell the kids about the importance of being petty?” Ziwe asked, to which Law replied, “I think that there is an importance of being petty, but I’ve outgrown my pettiness. I think that holding grudges makes you ugly, so in my quest to become more beautiful, I’ve released some of the grudges that I held. And I’m actually wearing Saint Laurent right now.”

Ziwe then asked if Zendaya would start wearing some of these brands, and he dropped a simple “no.”

Law previously told the Cutting Room Floor podcast in 2024 that at the beginning of Zendaya's career, “I would write the big five. I would write Saint Laurent, Chanel, Gucci, Valentino, Dior. And they would all say no. ‘Try again next year, she’s too green, she’s not on our calendar,’ and I still have the receipts. I still have everything. By the time she got to American Vogue, she still had never wore any of those designers. She still hasn’t.”

Law was specifically talking about the red carpet vs editorials, and added “She still has never worn Dior on a carpet. She still has never worn Chanel on a carpet. She has still never worn Gucci on a carpet—any press, any appearance, never. Never. The first time she wore Valentino in public is when she had a contract, so when I said, ‘If you say no, it’ll be a no forever,’ that rang true for a long, long time.”
