Congratulations are in order for Charles Melton, because—surprise!—he’s married. No big celebrity-filled event or even a wedding photo reveal on Instagram here, just a casual mention of his “wife” in an interview. Cute!
On Thursday, August 20, People reported that Charles called Camille Summers-Valli his wife in a new interview. The 35-year-old was talking about finding out he was nominated for an Emmy for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Limited or Anthology Series or Movie for Beef when he let the news slip. (Or, I guess it’s not news to him, but, you know what I mean.)
“I was trying not to tune in,” Charles said of the nomination announcement, which came out when he was in Paris. “We [were] eight or nine hours ahead, and so maybe about a minute before the online nominations thing came out, I looked to my wife, and I was like, ‘Hey, should we turn it on?’ And we did.”
And he was nominated. And he’s married. And it’s time to learn more about who Camille Summers-Valli is, besides someone with a very cool, fancy-sounding name.
She’s a director.
Camille Summers-Valli doesn’t just have a cool name, she also has a really cool job. Camille is a director whose work includes music videos, commercials, and short films.
She’s worked on music videos with artists including Haim, METTE, and BadBadNotGood. As for commercials, she worked with Charles on ads for Coach that co-starred Elle Fanning, and she also directed a campaign for On that starred Zendaya. Her short film, Untitled Women—which also features Charles—will premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival this September.
She’s a photographer.
In addition to directing films, Camille also shoots still photography. Some of her recent work can be seen in Love magazine and in a campaign she worked on with Charles for... milk. Yes, Charles stars in a campaign promoting milk, complete with a “2027 Milk Man Hydration Calendar.” I guess if you’re going to pose sexily with milk, your partner is probably a good person to have take the photos!
She’s a mom.
Charles shared in March that he and Camille had welcomed a baby. The actor posted a carousel of photos of himself and Camille with their daughter, as well as some photos of Camille while she was pregnant. He captioned the post, “our family.”
Camille opened up about motherhood in a July post on her own Instagram account. She reflected on her experience of giving birth, becoming a mother, and raising her young child.
“Taking care of my daughter everyday, labouring through the sleep and the feeds and the constant love has made me a greater human than I ever thought possible,” she wrote in part. “As girls we are told our power is in our beauty, in our sexuality, in our service to men. My daughter has taught me that in fact my power is within my ability to love on others in a world that needs more love. That my power is in my creativity. Making work that is important before it is beautiful.”
Obsessed w/ these two, no notes.
