Ariana Grande and Ricky Alvarez are Instagram tattoo official! Ariana just debuted some new ink at her August 15 concert in London: a simple phrase on her collarbone that says “I do love you.” And fans were quick to clock that Ricky has the exact same tattoo on his collarbone in a different font—which he posted back in 2025.

Here’s the side-by-side for the full effect:

Ariana and Ricky first dated for over a year and split in 2016, but found their way back to each other following Ari’s breakup with Ethan Slater. They’ve been going strong for a couple months, and Ariana even made things official by posting Ricky on Instagram (and a hint about her new tattoo that no one noticed at the time—swipe!)—though she’s yet to speak out confirming their relationship.

A People source had some cute things to say, though, noting that “Ariana has always considered Ricky a friend. She’s not held ill will against him [since their split]. Ricky is dependable, trustworthy and very supportive. Ariana feels she can be herself around Ricky.”

They added that the couple are “taking things very slowly” and that “They’re not jumping into anything serious right away, but Ari is happy to have him back in her life.”

Oh, and another insider told the outlet that “Ricky has always been a friend and confidant” and that Ariana “really trusts him.” Plus, “He has such great, positive energy, makes her laugh, and she enjoys spending time with him.”
