• The Jonas Brothers reprised their roles as Connect 3 in Camp Rock 3, which drops on August 13.
  • After she was announced as an executive producer on the project and denied any onscreen involvement, Demi Lovato weighed in on whether she’s in the movie.
  • Here’s what Demi said about the “nostalgic and healing” role 18 years after her breakout performance in 2008.

Camp Rock 3 is coming so soon. Like, August 13 soon. The Jonas Brothers are officially reprising their roles as Connect 3 (Nate, Jason, and Shane Gray) as they go back to their roots at Camp Rock and host a talent competition to find a supporting act for their reunion tour. Of course, part of what made the DCOM so special was Demi Lovato’s breakout role as Mitchie Torres in the first movie. But as art imitates life for the JoBros after their onstage reunion with Demi last summer, will she make her return for the latest flick in the beloved franchise?

According to Variety, Demi is making a small cameo as Mitchie in the third movie, which passes the baton to a new generation of talent. This marks her first time playing the role since Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam premiered back in 2010.

Demi dropped the news about her cameo at the movie’s premiere on Monday, August 10, where she surprised fans alongside the Jonas Brothers on the red carpet.

But before the cameo cat was out of the bag, she was previously announced as an executive producer on the project without an onscreen role last September.

Demi also opened up about how returning to her roots as Mitchie was “nostalgic and healing” for her, 18 years after she first played the fan-favorite character.

“It was so nostalgic and so healing to step into the role of Mitchie again. I had the best time,” she gushed on the red carpet of the movie’s premiere. “This film obviously means so much to me. Camp Rock was the beginning of my journey in this industry, and so it’s just so great to be able to be back in this role.”

She separately told People how she kept her cameo under wraps for so long. “It’s definitely been hard,” she explained. “People, you know, have been asking, ‘Are you a part of it?’ and I’ve been having to say, ‘Well, I’m an executive producer, and you’ll just have to wait and see.’ So now it’s out, and I can’t wait for the world to see it.”

Demi, it’s safe to say we are absolutely seated!
