Kate Middleton's annual Christmas Eve concert, Together at Christmas, aired on ITV last night. Every year, the Princess of Wales and her family gather at Westminster Abbey for the occasion, which features carols, musical performances and readings. Plus, recognises and celebrates individuals for services to their communities.

For 2025's edition, Kate and Prince William's daughter, Princess Charlotte, 10, took centre stage, as she performed a pre-recorded piano duet with her mother. The sweet segment was filmed at Windsor Castle, and saw the two royals take on 'Holm Sound' by Erland Cooper, a Scottish composer and producer from the Orkney Islands.

While the duet itself was incredibly wholesome, many royal fans also noticed that the performance held a secret message. Let's unpack: While Kate and Charlotte sat side by side playing the piano together, the future Queen recorded a voiceover over the music.

The 43-year-old said: "At its heart, Christmas speaks of love taking form in the simplest, most human ways. Not in sentimental or grand gestures. But gentle ones. A moment of listening. A word of comfort. A friendly conversation. A helping hand. Presents. These simple acts of care might seem small, but they contribute to the beautiful tapestry of life to which we all belong."

It was these words that fans made the connection: the fact that Charlotte was literally giving her mother a "helping hand" to play the song made for the sweetest TV moment.

Elsewhere in the festive message, Kate said: "Christmas is a time which reminds us how deeply our lives are woven together. Just as the roots of trees share strength between the soil, unseen but vital, so too do we. We are drawn by an instinctive pull towards belonging and connection.

Everyone's clicking on...

"At a time when life can sometimes feel fragmented or uncertain, the Christmas season invites us to remember the power of reaching out to one another with generosity of heart, understanding and hope."

Kate continued, explaining how her carol service "offers a moment of collective togetherness," and a "chance to celebrate the spirit of community and service." Not to mention, honouring the "visible and invisible bonds which unite us all."

The Princess ended the speech by wishing the guests and everyone at home a "very happy Christmas," and thanked people for their "warmth" and "kindness."

Kate and Charlotte both looked very festive for their special event, the two princesses slightly matching in Christmas colours. While Kate wore an emerald green long-sleeved velvet dress, with her chestnut locks styled in loose mermaid waves, little Charlotte wore a navy dress with a scolloped Peter Pan collar. The young princess wore her honey blonde hair in a half-up-half-down style, secured at the back with a statement gold bow.
