Prince William and Kate Middleton could be preparing for another house move, as the royal couple reportedly feel they've already outgrown Adelaide Cottage – which they moved into last year – on the Windsor Estate.

According to OK!, the Prince and Princess of Wales "love the cottage" but feel it is "too small" for their family of five. "There are four bedrooms which just about fit them all in but there are other things that need to be considered," a Kensington Palace source told the magazine.

"It is also meant to be a working residence and there isn’t room to facilitate an office or hold more than a few guests at a time," the insider added. "They were looking for a larger home but have now resigned themselves to the fact that they will be stuck in the cottage due to other properties not opening up for them."

The news comes amid claims that Prince Andrew is hesitant to leave the Royal Lodge – which some experts predicted the Waleses would move into. Earlier this year, it was revealed that King Charles III is making plans to cut his brother's income, meaning he'd be unlikely to afford upkeep of the Royal Lodge.

Some suggested that Andrew could move into the newly-available Frogmore Cottage – the former home of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle – but reports this week said he is "reluctant to leave" the Royal Lodge.

With all this in mind, it seems that William, Kate and their three children will be staying put at Adelaide Cottage for the foreseeable – but that might not be the worst thing. As royal expert Jennie Bond told OK!, the couple have been keen to give their kids a "more normal lifestyle," something which Adelaide Cottage can offer.
