From living out of boxes for however many days, weeks, months it takes you to unpack to finally being forced to sift through all the junk you refuse to throw away, anyone who has ever moved home will tell you it is a stressful ordeal. And that's no different when you're a royal, as they also have to deal with the difficulties that come with relocating. It's why Prince William and Kate Middleton – who will be moving to Windsor with their three kids – are planning to have a "normal" summer before the chaos of relocating ensues.
As we know, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have been set on moving to Windsor to be closer to the Queen, recently eyeing up Adelaide Cottage as their potential new home. But with the stress of the move rapidly nearing, it's been revealed that William and Kate are trying to keep things as chill as possible for eight-year-old Prince George, seven-year-old Princess Charlotte and four-year-old Prince Louis
"Even though their brand new life in Windsor is about to begin, their summers on the coast will provide a sense of normality," royal expert Nicholl told OK! of the family's plans to enjoy a staycation in Norfolk over July and August. "The Cambridge family will be experiencing a significant amount of changes in the coming weeks; as well as moving to Windsor, George, Charlotte and Louis are all set to enrol at brand new schools, which is understandably a daunting concept."
Nicholl went on: "But they’re a very adaptable family so I’m sure they’ll welcome any and all new opportunities. Windsor is a place that the children are already familiar with, so it’s likely they’ll adjust very quickly.
"Up until this moment, they’ve maintained a happy balance between the city and the countryside – London and Norfolk – but if Windsor works for them on a 'full time' basis, it’s very likely they’ll remain down there for the foreseeable future."
Speaking about the Cambridges' decision to relocate to Windsor, a source previously told the Mail on Sunday: "Anmer Hall made sense while William was a helicopter pilot in East Anglia and it was useful for Christmases at Sandringham but it doesn’t really work any more. It’s a little too far away for weekends but Windsor is a perfect compromise."
