Kate Middleton and Prince William are known for being couple goals all around the world, having first gotten together at university and now being a family of five, with their three children – Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis. This year, they'll even be celebrating eleven years of marriage, too!
But before the public were fully up to speed with the Cambridge's relationship, it's reported that there were times when other women showed their interest in the future king... and although at that point they were still 'just friends', Kate had a very clever trick of letting them know that William wasn't available.
According to a report from The Mirror, the couple's old friend Laura Warshauer chatted to author Katie Nicholl for her book Kate: the Future Queen and said, "Will was getting really hit on by this girl at a party and it was getting quite uncomfortable because he couldn’t shake her off. He was being really polite, but this girl just didn’t get the hint.
"All of a sudden, Kate came up behind him and put her arms around him. He said, 'Oh, sorry, but I’ve got a girlfriend' and he and Kate went off giggling."
Laura then went on to recall that William mouthed "Thanks so much" to Kate afterwards, and their mutual pal also shared that Kate was the "only girl in the room who could have done that... and that was just a month after we started university". How adorable is that?
Obviously the pair have come a long was since then and by the time they left the University of St Andrews, they were officially a couple.
Everyone's clicking on...
Elsewhere in Cambridge news, Kate recently landed a rather exciting TV job, following in the footsteps of none other than Reese Witherspoon, Regé-Jean Page and Tom Hardy. To mark Children's Mental Health Week (7 February to 13 February), the Duchess took a turn at reading a bedtime story out on on Cbeebies' Bedtime Story series, opting to deliver The Owl Who Was Afraid of the Dark by Jill Tomlinson to align with this year's theme of 'Growing Together'.
A telly pro and a quick-thinker who can also shut down an awkward situation? We love to see it.
