The Internet loves a good "100 Years..." beauty or fashion video and although this one from Glamour covers a much longer period of time (it starts with the Roman Empire), it fits nicely into the category. (There's even a "100 Years of Hamster Beauty" for hamster beauty aficionados.)

The video details some of the biggest trends and innovations in bra design, giving tidbits about each one along the way. (Did you know the "nipple bra" was popular in the '70s? No wonder my mother hid all the photos of herself from 1972–1978.)

Also, bonus points for the "Future Bra," which is either a bra for robots or a bra designed to be worn so you can be sexy for your inevitable robot boyfriend in the future.

Arm, Shoulder, Elbow, Eyelash, Chest, Beauty, Trunk, Wrist, Model, Blond,

The video also shows us the dawn of the underwire (1930s, in case you were wondering) which not only helped lift, shape and support breasts, but also deflected bullets.

Because, of course.

Then there was the actual 'bullet bra' which you may remember from Madonna's reign in the 1990s but was really first introduced in the 1950s.

Watch the full video above and prepare to learn LOADS.
