With the heatwave making its return this weekend, it’s officially time to get our wardrobes in check. And honestly, what could be easier than throwing on a T-shirt? More specifically, a printed tee.

Now, printed and slogan T-shirts can sometimes fall into the basic — or even slightly tacky — category, but when done right, they’re the easiest way to inject a little fun into your wardrobe without having to overthink it. Personally, I'm drawn to two extremes: either a tee bursting with colour, or something much more understated with a vintage-inspired feel.

The good news? You don't need to spend hours hunting through vintage stores to achieve the look. It's all about the vibe. Think faded graphics, retro movie references, worn-in washes, cropped silhouettes or contrast trims that make a T-shirt feel like it's already lived a few lives.

The best part is they're incredibly easy to style. In fact, they do most of the hard work for you. Unlike a plain white T-shirt, which often needs layers, jewellery and accessories to give it some personality, a statement tee arrives with the personality built in. My ideal formula? A slightly loose straight-leg jean, platform Converse and, if the British weather decides to be British again, a trusty blazer or cosy cardigan thrown over the top. Finish with your favourite sunnies, and you've nailed that effortlessly cool ‘I just threw this on’ look.

And perhaps the biggest selling point of all: slogan tees and playful prints let you say exactly what you're thinking without actually having to say a word. Whether you’re channelling Euro summer energy, showing off your favourite film reference or simply embracing a fun graphic, they're guaranteed to spark a little joy.

The high street is packed with options in every colour and fit imaginable, from oversized styles to fitted silhouettes, and everything from classic white to butter yellow and bubblegum pink. One of my favourites has to be this ‘Ciao’ T-shirt from M&S.

It screams ‘holiday’ in the most effortless way possible. Plus, I’m always a fan of a navy and white colour combination for the summer. At just £18, it's an easy addition to your warm-weather wardrobe.
