TV and film often influence our fashion sensibility - from the Chanel boots worn by Andy Sachs in The Devil Wears Prada to the instant sell-out Frankies Bikinis swimsuit worn by Cassie in Euphoria. When we see our fave on-screen fashionistas being fab, sometimes we can't help but want to replicate that IRL.
One show that most embodies this phenomena? SATC. You see, Sex and the City has had a majorly huge impact on all of our perceptions of what style and glamour means - in no small part thanks to the fabulous persona of Carrie Bradshaw as interpreted by Sarah Jessica-Parker and the costume designer genius that is Patricia Field.
And there have been some majorly iconic fashion ensembles from the original series - the naked dress Carrie wears on her bus ad, for one - and the And Just Like That sequel (JW Anderson pigeon bag, anyone?).
But few SATC style moments have left quite as impressive a style legacy as the iconic newsprint dress. Worn by Carrie in season three of the original show, the John Galliano for Christian Dior Autumn/Winter 2000-2001 dress features a cowl neck and is covered in (*duh*) white and black newspaper print. A longer version of the dress was also worn in the second SATC movie.
And it seems like Ashley Graham has just unveiled herself as an SATC fan, having just worn a stunning mini dress that pays homage to this iconic pop culture fit. Specifically, the model and presenter shared new Instagram shots of herself wearing the Vic dress by London-based cult designer Clio Peppiatt.
The mini dress featuring a flared skirt and side split is truly a gorgeous sight to behold, elevating the newspaper print pattern to new heights due to some outstanding beadwork. Specifically, it's entirely hand beaded in powder blue, silver and jet black with accents of sparkling pearl *and* a Swarovski-trimmed neckline. Ashley paired the look with platform, high heel sandals with bejewelled straps by Amina Muaddi.
We're in love with this look - and so are the supermodel's fans, who liked her post over 100,000 times. Keep shining bright Ashley!
