The 2026 Met Gala red carpet was pure chaos (in the positive sense of the word), with celebrities interpreting the “Costume Art” theme and “Fashion Is Art” dress code in wildly different ways. But one through-line? Naked dresses! Celebs cannot get enough of them, and the 2026 Met Gala red carpet is no exception, with everyone from Cara Delevingne to Lena Mahfouf showing up wearing next to nothing and looking amazing in the process.

Quick reminder that the dress code, “Fashion Is Art,” reflects “the ethos of ‘Costume Art,’ which explores the ‘centrality of the dressed body’ through depictions and interpretations of the human form in the Met’s extensive collection.”

So yes, there was definitely an emphasis on the human form. Hence all the naked looks... And while some celebrities truly said clothing is optional, revealing as much skin as they possibly could, others proved the naked dress – when executed in the right way – can earn you a place on the best dressed list. (We're looking at you, Beyoncé and Zoe Kravitz!).
