Much like the famous side-part, skinny jeans are a trend that divides generations. Millennials grew up with them as a wardrobe staple (to the point where we couldn't imagine wearing anything but skinnies) whereas many Gen Zs on TikTok dubbed them as 'dated' and 'basic'. Regardless of what other people may say, though, we're firm believers in wearing whatever you want. After all, the best outfit is the one you feel confident in. Just ask Kate Middleton, who is demonstrated the value of staying true to your own personal style.

Overnight, the Prince and Princess of Wales released their annual family Christmas card. In the snap, the royals wear decidedly laid-back clothes, offering a more intimate look at the family's home life. For the occasion, Kate wore none other than her signature skin-tight denim. The deep blue wash style, with slightly faded detailing across the front, were then teamed with a white broderie anglaise blouse and matching Superga trainers (a style loved by both Kate and the former Princess of Wales, Diana).

Here's the picture in question, shared on Kate and William's Instagram account with the caption "Sharing a new picture of the family for this year’s Christmas card! πŸŽ„πŸ“Έ @mattporteous":

It wasn't long before one fan noted that Kate was (intentionally or otherwise) making the case for continuing wearing the denim trend, commenting:

If Kate says skinny jeans are still in style then I’m in

And a whole host of others were quick to respond, adding:

hear hear
just what I was thinking!
yaaasssss!!! πŸ™Œ
lol I thought the same! β€˜Wait…. Kate is still wearing skinny jeans?!’
πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ”₯πŸ”₯πŸ”₯πŸ˜πŸ˜‚ I love it too!!
how good does she look in them 😍
yes!! I came back to make a double take! I love my skinny jeans

Aside from the jeans, Kate's blouse and trainer pairing is actually an outfit repeat, previously worn by the Princess (then Duchess) at the Chelsea Flower Show back in 2019.

So it seems that Kate is all about staying true to your own personal style and re-wearing items already in your wardrobe. VIBES.
