I've already waxed lyrical about Pamela Anderson's iconic '90s style, with the actress, model and activist debuting a slew of memorable lewks over the decade. In fact, there are a handful of outfits that are practically synonymous with Pam. And, Baywatch swimsuit aside, Pamela's other most famous '90s 'fit is, arguably, the black leather corset she wore in the 1996 film Barb Wire. Featuring a plunging front, lace-up detailing and halterneck top, the piece was a whole vibe. Now, for those unfamiliar with the corset, the look is so loved that multiple celebs have paid homage to the fashion moment in recent years.
For Halloween 2020, Kendall Jenner wore a blonde wig and full-leather costume, in the form of a corset turned bodysuit, in tribute to the icon. And last year the corset featured in the first photo shared of Lily James as Pamela in the new series, Pam & Tommy. Overnight, it seems that Hailey Bieber's gone and put her own spin on the top.
Taking to Instagram, Hailey shared a series of snaps showing her posing in a verrry similar corset. And, while there isn't an explicit mention of Pam's 'fit in her caption, the resemblance is kind of uncanny. Teamed with a pair of low-rise jeans (Hailey's hands slipped into the top of pockets, just like Pam) the model wears her hair down in voluminous waves. Here are the pics:
For reference, here's Pamela wearing the OG look in Barb Wire:
Pretty similar, huh? Unlike Pam's version, though, Hailey has swapped the lace-up front for a hook and eye fastening (perhaps a matter of personal preference?). Anywhoo, celebs took to the comments to share how much they were digging the look:
"❤️" wrote Justin Bieber, while Anastasia Karanikolaou added "BEAUTY".
Everyone's clicking on...
What do you think? Reckon this look is a fashion tribute from Hailey to Pamela, or just a coincidence?
